superwoman smoothie

One thing I CANNOT go throughout my day without in the morning is my smoothie. Through the years, I've experienced a smoothie evolution, going from only frozen fruit and soy milk to adding a little bit of protein powder to adding spinach to adding other little quirks to it. Well, no smoothie is ever fully-evolved, there's always something awesome to add- but I must admit, this smoothie I made yesterday morning hit the spot! Here's what I threw into the blender:

  • 1 frozen banana
  • frozen strawberries
  • frozen blueberries
  • a few almonds
  • handful of spinach leaves
  • a dice-size chunk of raw, peeled, sliced ginger
  • 2 tbsp hemp protein powder
  • 1 tsp  maca powder
  • 1 tsp spirulina protein powder
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup unsweetened coconut milk 
  • 2 tbsp ground flaxseed
  • 1 tbsp raw cacao powder
I'm pretty sure that smoothie can kick any other smoothie's butt! It was delicious, extremely healthy in many different aspects, filling, and totally gave me the kick-start to what was a very busy day! If you're going to take the time to throw stuff in a blender, make sure it's going to keep you full and keep you energized!
