If you are like my mom, you crave cereal at night! And what is most cereal these days? Just a bunch of processed wheat products, corn starch and syrups, buckets of sugar, and an addiction in which causes one to leave the kitchen after two or three bowls instead of the one you kept saying would be the only. If you browse the internet for healthy, raw, homemade cereals, I'm sure you'll find a lot of granolas with dehydrated fruit and seeds, which are also probably awesome. My issue is that I do not currently have a dehydrator, so here's a cereal recipe ANYONE could make!
Apple-Cinnamon-Flax Deliciousness
Ingredients:
- one or two chopped apples
- a handful of almonds
- one tbsp ground flaxseed
- one tsp of cinnamon
- 1 tsp of pure vanilla extract
- almond milk
What to do:
- throw the almonds in a blender and blend slightly- so that the almonds don't turn to flour!
- throw it all into a bowl and pour almond milk over for a delicious cereal, perfect for a late-night snack if you don't want the three bowls of processed cereal
