welcome to the swampy life

As I've mentioned, my daily morning smoothie looks pretty much the same everyday... like mucky pond water. But, it is absolutely delicious and keeps me full all morning long- an excellent post-work out smoothie too!

Shrek's Swamp Smoothie:

ingredients:
  • 1 kale leaf
  • either .5 lemon cucumber, 1 celery branch, or both (I substitute one or the other depending on what is available to me)
  • 1 frozen banana
  • small handful of frozen or fresh blueberries (this morning I had to substitute pears because I ran out of blueberries- madness ahhhh!)
  • a few frozen or fresh strawberries
  • 2tbsp whole flaxseed
  • 2 scoops hemp protein (or 3 if you previously worked out that morning)
  • handful of shredded coconut 
  • 1tsp vanilla extract
  • .5 cup coconut water
  • .5-.75 cup almond milk
  • water (depending on texture- sometimes need more liquid in there)









And all you do is blend it all together and drink the most delicious swamp water ever up! I'm no expert on the taste of Shrek's swamp... but I can give you a pretty much positivity that it will taste better.... it will even taste better than better... it will taste amazing!
